Now that the Thanksgiving rush is over and the Christmas decorations are in full display, you will start putting together your shopping list and wondering what to get for that special someone. Fortunately, there are many craft fairs and other Christmas shopping events happening in Hocking Hills over the next few weeks. Here are our picks for upcoming special events where you are sure to find unique gifts for everyone on your list.
Judy Robinson’s Country Textiles at Chickencoop Hill Farm
Most Fridays and some Saturdays between now and Christmas, stop into Judy Robinson’s Country Textiles at Chickencoop Hill Farm for hand-woven rugs, table runners, placemats, and more. You will also find a variety of other handmade gifts including candles and sewing boxes. If you can’t make it out to the farm, catch up with Judy at Winterfair, Columbus’s fine arts and crafts festival, which runs December 6 through 8.
Final Fridays on the Square
Nelsonville’s historic square arts district, which is transformed during winter into North Pole Nelsonville, is the best place in Hocking Hills to find one-of-a-kind treasures. Galleries featuring work by local artists, homemade pottery, local clothing stores, jewelry, and more can be found along the square. Friday, November 29, marks the last Final Friday event (shops open until 10 pm), but the shops will be open daily until 9 pm through December 24. While you are hunting for that perfect gift, the kids can visit Santa and drink hot chocolate at Santa’s Village.
Christmas Open House at Flowers by Darlene
On Saturday, December 7, from 4 to 8 pm, Flowers by Darlene in Logan is hosting a Christmas Open House. Enjoy refreshments and live entertainment while you find decorative items and gifts for all of the botanophiles on your list. You will even have a chance to win a $500 gift certificate for the store.
Logan Farmers Market
Farmers markets are always full of gift ideas for food lovers. The Logan Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday in the parking lot by M&M Family Diner.
Southeast Ohio is notable not only for its stunning landscapes but also for its talented local artists and craftspeople. This year, make Christmas even more special by giving gifts that reflect the spirit and personality of the Hocking Hills region.
