Valley Zipline Tours in Hocking Hills, Ohio is one of our newest venues, opening in 2012. It’s also one of the largest ziplining venues in the state, as well as one of the best fishing areas.
Valley Zipline Tours began life as Catfish Valley, a fishing lake specializing in catfish and shovelhead. Expansion into ziplining began in 2011, when the owners decided to add another dimension to their business. The fishing lake still operates, but there is now a more adrenalin fueled activity to try.
The Valley Zipline Tours course begins with a short ATV ride up to the start. Here you will have the “talk,” get to know your equipment, be shown how to control yourself on a descent and have a couple of practice runs.
Then, the first five ziplines are along the ridge where you begin. They are designed to build your skills and your confidence before taking you up into the canopy and zipline from a tower. There are three major ziplines running back and forth across the valley. Each is over 1000 feet long and runs at an elevations of around 100 feet. That’s why you have your confidence built in those first five lines!
The last line in this section of Valley Zipline Tours is the Monster Line. Once complete, you get to try The Duel, a twin line running parallel with each other where you race another zipliner to see who will win. It’s a fast, exciting ride that adds an element of competition to the ride. It is a very popular line indeed.
Once you complete The Duel, the final line awaits. This is a lower line that takes you to the final tower where you will rappel down to the ground and complete the tour.
As well as ziplines, there is also the Giant Swing, where you strap yourself into an elastic band and are thrust into the air. There is also a mini zip course for those who don’t like the idea of being so far off the ground, or flying so fast through the air.
Valley Zipline Tours is a great day out for all the family. It caters for all ability levels and as long as you can cope with heights is a must-try for anyone visiting Hocking Hills.
